What is IRIS?
Based the latest condition, for thousands of assets, IRIS calculates the estimated remaining life of the asset. It determines when the asset requires replacement, how much it will cost to replace, and what risk you face. Consolidating all asset renewal needs, year-by-year, asset-by-asset, IRIS provides a comprehensive understanding of annual budget required for asset replacement, rehabilitation, and maintenance.
Using the financial module, IRIS can provide financial scenarios comparing the replacement and rehabilitation budget allocated and the impact on work backlog, business risk exposure, and replacement fund.
Kayuga’s IRIS (Infrastructure Renewal Intelligence System) is a cloud-based asset management decision-support software. Residing in the Microsoft Azure Cloud, IRIS provides reliable and secure multi-user access with the flexibility to accommodate any database size and processing power requirements.
IRIS compliments our client’s existing information systems to complete a comprehensive asset management information system. GIS shows where your assets are located, CMMS records the activities (e.g., inspection, maintenance, rehabilitation, replacement) performed on the assets, and the financial system (e.g., ERP) records the project costs and human resource information. IRIS brings in the data from the existing systems and applies asset management business logic to help address the following asset management questions:
What do I own and manage? What is the condition of my assets? Where are my poor condition assets located?
Which assets are due for replacement or rehabilitation? When are they due? Where are they located? How much will it cost?
What and where are my high-risk assets? How much budget is required to address them?
How much budget is needed to sustain the delivery of services? Is the current funding level sufficient? If not, what is the impact of current replacement funding with respect to work backlog and risk?
How much resources are required to provide the work needed to fulfill the level of service?
How can I communicate my asset management needs with stakeholders? Can I defend the needs using data?
Key Functionalities
IRIS uses API (Application Programming Interface) to communicate with existing CMMS, GIS, Financial, and other expert systems or databases (e.g., CCTV,
SCADA, LIMS). Where API is not available, IRIS can use Kayuga’s Konnect module, a middleware, to read data from other data sources (e.g., Excel, CSV).
